EASA has certified the single engine SF50 Vision Jet from Cirrus Aircraft.
The announcement was made at EBACE where the personal jet is making its debut, and comes seven months after FAA certification.
Not requiring a full-time professional pilot or a full flight department, the Vision Jet fills the gap between high performance pistons and Very Light Jets like the HondaJet.
“This is an exciting day for Cirrus and for our customers throughout Europe,” said Pat Waddick, president of innovation and operations.
Seven Vision Jets are due to be delivered across Europe this year, with the region accounting for around 15% of the current 600 global orders.
However, that percentage could well rise given recent changes to EU regulations that allow commercial operations for single-engine aircraft at night and IMC.
The Vision Jet costs US$2m and has a range of 1,000nm, and max speed of 300ktas.
