Looking for a stylish, personal hotel in the heart of Paris’ congress hub? Look no further than the impressive Les Jardins De La Villa

Anyone who has travelled to Paris on business will know the conundrum: you want a boutique property but also need a great location. The two seldom meet, but in Les Jardins De La Villa visitors can have the best of both worlds.

The 4-star property (they only have 33 rooms so it is a genuine boutique hotel) is located just next to the Palais de Congres yet is a world away from the hospitality giants that normally monopolise its delegates (think the 950-room Hyatt Regency and 1,025-room Le Meridien Etoile).

Aimed at the discerning traveller who expects a more bespoke stay, Les Jardins De La Villa is pure contemporary chic, from hand-finished furnishings to sauna, hammam and honesty bar. There is a comfortable lounge area for breakfast and work stations for catching up on emails. In fact, the public areas are just as unique as the rooms themselves – feeling more like a lounge and library than a lobby. There is, as you would expect from the hotel’s moniker, an outdoor terrace, and some of the rooms and suites have private balconies – providing precious outdoor space in the centre of Paris.

Rooms are surprisingly spacious for Paris too, with generous, luxurious bathrooms, and all immaculately turned out – providing a fine balance between traditional style and modern technology.

Of course, being boutique carries pluses as well as minuses. On the plus side, the staff are incredible helpful and friendly, while the nature of the hotel means you may have to seek them out. Also, there is an honestly bar policy, which is great if you want to help yourself to home-sized measures, but less of a bonus if you expect to be waited on. When it comes to dinner, you’ll be looking to eat out, but then why would you dine in your hotel when visiting the gastronomic capital of the world?

However, if you prefer being treated as a guest rather than a room number, boutique is hard to beat, certainly in this case. If you are looking for a hotel close to the Palais de Congres, we’d have to say Les Jardins De La Villa is the smarter choice.
